Overview

Our system utilizes off the shelf, digital components linked by a local area network to a PC running Dataman’s software program. Primary components are magnetostrictive level sensors for volumetric measurements and deliveries, and an eavesdropping device for capturing dispenser outputs. Data from these sensors is merged and processed to create highly accurate inventory reconciliations, delivery history, and other information.
Software and Data Collection

Site resident software can be configured to send data anywhere with password protection via dedicated networks or a shared phone line. FTP and email are two transfer methods used. Tank data, always stored at the site, allows quick access to historic data. Multiple sites can be configured to automatically push data to one central collection point. A central data collection system improves operating efficiency in many ways and further benefits derive from site resident data because it provides redundancy as well as on site management utility.
Hardware

Dataman’s custom software is compatible with and may be integrated with equipment from manufacturers such as MTS, Gilbarco, Veeder-Root, Dresser – Wayne, Tokheim, Progressive International Electronics, and INCON. Simplicity of use is our goal. Complex tank management tasks are handled with full automation to ensure daily tank management requirements are met.
If already present, other vendors’ equipment may be used to acquire tank data. If not, Dataman can also provide sensors from MTS, the world’s leading manufacturer of liquid level measuring equipment. Installation is easy and very cost effective compared to conventional gauging systems.
Flexibility and ease-of-use
Today’s PCs are powerful, inexpensive, useful for multi-tasking, and offer a flexible platform for open architecture data acquisition and utilization. Our software is written using Microsoft tools commonly utilized throughout the world and therefore easy to support anywhere. Compare this to the proprietary and expensive host programs offered by other petroleum equipment vendors. Please take a minute to review examples of user interface screens and system outputs shown in the Flash presentation on the right hand side of our site.
